That might have been spray adhesive foam, used as a SWR years ago.

Where was that? The foamy stuff appears maybe to have bee applied on the other side? Which way is up?
Could that be a spray foam roof applied over gappy sheathing?

That was my only thought as well, but it wouldn’t have done much… gaps everywhere in the joints

Along the trusses and underside of the roof sheathing. The roof was shingles.

From today’s report writing. The electrical main comes in one side of the house, runs as knob & tube to the far opposite wall, exits the house, enters the meter, re-enters the house and runs to a FPE panel:

Sort of a tri-fecta. Note the bonus flue.

Seriously??!

Julie is the issue the radon mitigation system within what looks like about 15 feet of the window? I’ll bet the amount of radon gas coming out of that pipe is the same as the radon gas coming out of the ground below the window.

Hi Martin,
The issue is that it is not extending to above the roof line.
Not only that, but it is elbowed and blowing right at the neighbors bedroom window which is just 8 feet away.

I have a feeling these neighbors have an ongoing feud.

Nothing like opening your window for a fresh breeze! :grimacing:

Not really a WTF, but couldn’t think of a better place to post it.

Still going strong! Very clean unit.

They made them to last back then.
I had a countertop microwave I bought at Montgomery Ward that lasted 20 years.

And that’s the window to the young daughters room!

And the fan is outside, maximizing noise.
Or, alternatively, creating white noise to drown out the sound of neighbors bickering…

Bryce, surprisingly, the fan was quiet. Radon fans are not to be installed indoors. The exception is in a garage.
