Here is an 80 AMP breaker on 6 AWG conductor feeding a furnace/heat pump condenser. The Furnace/heat pump condenser has a 60 AMP breaker. Therefore the load should not pull more than 60 AMPS? Right??

This is where the dataplate on the equipment need to be consulted for the proper Minimum Circuit Ampacity and the Maximum Overcurrent Size.
