Actual Inspector Gross & Expenses

Then Nathan did your sample report?:p:p

Whatever you say

I do inspections for lawyers, police officers, firemen, engineers, professional athletes and several RE’s who are buying their own homes. I get these inspections because I do detailed reports.

However, since my reputation as a top CMI and detailed HI, I do not get any business on the mid to lower end of transactions. These inspections go to the soft report writing ASHI-cheap guys.

Due to the economy, the high end business is scarce. Again, the top 3% of RE’s here use me exclusively, because we all know that doing a good job and providing the best services pays off long term.

The other 97% of RE’s don’t get it.

Experience matters. Some of us have to meet bare minimum standardsto get regular realtor referrals

Perhaps you stop worrying about your reputation here on the boards and worry about it elsewhere

That’s is third for google results

You had the right idea but your own fake reviews don’t work. You need real customers to defend you

If you read the article you would see that even experienced inspectors can be bare minimum inspectors and may not have their clients best interest in mind

Here it is again

Those are real reviews.
The sad thing about Yelp is that you don’t even have to own a business to place a review. Would you like me to do one for your business? Give me a call at the 555-1212 number.

Here’s a more current review you missed. I see you don’t have any reviews yet!!! We’ll have to see if we can fix that for you.

The bottom line is that you need to use a wide net. Attract business from wherever you can as your budget permits. Just always be ethical about it.

Just remember that it is much more expensive to chase down every new client. Referrals are far more efficient and cheaper for you. And the truth is that if you do a good, honest job that keeps everyone out of court, you will get referrals. And many of those referrals will come from agents who like you and your work.

I think inspectors who hate agents probably don’t get referrals from them. Agents probably don’t like them personally for their attitude, work ethic or reports. It’s pretty clear who is just a jerk on this message board among peers. I imagine that reflects how they are in the field.

Bottom line is that if you do a good job, agents will refer you. It is unavoidable. Linas and others who say any marketing to agents is prostituting yourself need to take a basic business class or something.

I have ethically grown my business to six inspectors and we average almost 200 inspections per month. My top guy did about 520 last year. All ethically, no lawsuits, and many referrals from clients and agents.

I wish I had time to play with you guys on here but the full time day job and 10-12 inspections a week- I just cant fit it in…

Robert, I don’t doubt the statement above. I just wonder how you do all of that and have a family life.

If you ar able to get all that done then that is great!

I dont have a family life. I have 2 kids in college and an exwife I am still required to pay child support at a grand a month- until September. I am also mandated to maintain heath insurance for both children. Nothing good comes from court orders. sadly- when the kids are home from college they live at my house. I have a helper in my inspection business that will have a license next month. I may become the first part time multi inspector firm in the nation. lol

Sh!t and here I’ve been struggling for over 10 years, why didn’t I think of that? #-o
