All 20 amp panel?

I did an inspection yesterday and the main panel had only 20 and 30 amp breakers. The wire sizing was appropriate throughout and the installation looked neat and professional but there were no 15 amp breakers or circuits. Anyone else ever see this?

Bill, quite often, especially from one particular electric company in town. They do a very neat and tidy installation and especially on the bigger homes, they use only 20 amp with appropriate wiring.

There are some counties in Florida that did not allow 14 guage wire so you saw lots of 20a breakers. I assume the unified code made that go away

I find homes a couple of times each month that have all switches and receptacles on 20 amp circuits. Just have to be dilligent and make sure that all receps and switches are rated for 20 amps.

15 A receptacles are allowed on 20A branch circuits if there are more than one receptacle contact point connected (such as a duplex receptacle). See Table 210.21(B)(3) Receptacle Ratings for Various Size Circuits

And I'm pretty sure that switches need only be sized for the load they control at the applied voltage see 404.14 2002 NEC .
