Does anyone know what insect makes this mound? The material is the fill underneath the pavers, but I’ve never seen the mound consist of these little ‘pellets’.

hard to tell the size/scale
Saw a couple of these mounds, definitley from something burrowing between the pavers. The pavers are the size of a brick. The pellets are maybe 1/8" long.
I think my cat would have let me know if there was a rabbit around…
