somewhere, someone began to perpetrate another bllchtt story on the public, that somehow if we dont pay the BBB for membership there is a feeling we are unethical `n not worth of being considered for business.

is the BBB saying that those of us who are NOT members of their organization really shouldnt be trusted?

why should we pay someone for a pat on the back when we have many thousands of Actual Homeowners as REAL referrals?

the BBB calls me at least 2 times a year... 4 times already this yr to yet-again ask the same questions, that i`d be alot better off as a member, that they can help me if/when i ever have problems-complaints, that the public perception on being in business means being a member of the BBB etc., and all they want is some money

now i`m not sayin` the BBB is all bad, but c`mon....2nd question How can a Bureau be unbiased when it gets a complaint about a Member? A) the BBB`s integrity is on the line every time we review & process a complaint,such action would destroy our most valuable asset--the public trust...." 34 complaints in last 36 mth? and many other examples, this is how one Protects homeowners, OR...is this how one protects companies who PAY the BBB`s salary, huh?

Sure seems to be at least a minor problem in this business dont cha think? Can anyone see that just about every single company listed on last post with Many complaints 'Only install-mostly install'..................INSIDE methods! And cant the BBB etc see that at least 1 company and their method appears not to work?

And to think that Not only do these inside methods do NOT stop water from entering but wait until the real truth gets out that their inside method does Not stop mold, Radon etc, and.....that Most inside companies tell homeowners they 'relieve hydrostatic-lateral pressure off the outside of the wall by allowing water to dribble in at bottom of cracks and by drilling holes in bottom crs of block walls, now....you talk about a good bllchtt story, HOLY SHTT! The Pressure is on the Outside, not inside! Read those other links(yoder group-bob vila-riverwatch/winnipeg) i posted before about REAL hydrostatic `n lateral pressure and what OTHERS say can help relieve this pressure, and guess what? Its NOT from the INSIDE Need i again bring up the fact that drilling holes in block walls and leaving cracks open allow RADON to enter your home? Put the entire waterproofing package together here folks.

dont ya see the SHTTTTT us honest contractors have to go through, listen to, and we are totally OUTNUMBERED! When on estimates homeowners will usually call 3,4,5+ companies for estimate `n i have found that very often the 'other' companies are all-almost always Inside companies who want to-ONLY do inside methods.

soooooooo, these homeowners are being hit over the head `n brainwashed into a method that does not stop water,mold radon hydrostatic pressure. Many people think to themselves..." well, all but 1 contractor say they will fix our problem(s) on the inside, they are all licensed so maybe this Mark guy doesnt know what he`s talking about".....and "All the other companies say we need to do all the way around inside perimeter of basement, all 4 walls, & this mark guy says we only need to fix the corner...from the outside...Hmmmm, 3 companies AGREE and 1 is saying the complete opposite" ...and to top that off "well honey, they say we should toss out the lowest bid and this mark guy`s is the lowest so OUT ya go!"

For krist sake, OF COURSE i`m going to be lower/lowest since the Only problem-leak was in 1 corner, i am being.....ahem, HONEST!!! the inside sob`s all doing more work than necessary and NOT stopping water from entering etc, but certainly their estimates will be...Higher. This just happened again in Warren MI, the Wilsons got screwed EXACTLY this WAY and...STILL Leak! Called my azz back after having this 'Drip Dry Waterproofing' co. come over `n screw em with an inside method.

Then to compound matters, ya got the G Haege`s of the radio world backing up this entire inside bllchtt game! Haege use to recommend EVERDRY Waterproofing `till he did a lil homework `n found what i posted, now he recommeds a couple companies who install same inside-METHOD, who also have some complaints, sure...Not as many as Everdry but complaints all the same. And IMO, who are at least partiially in bed at the BBB`s Shady Pines Motel. On top of that, who has bs`d the people well and long enough to make millions $ to.....advertise even more, on Tv & radio and with BIG g damm Yellow Pgs ads & continue the onslaught of 1 of the greatest bllchtt stories ever told.

Everdry Waterproofing is your expert guest from Fairfield,OH they are a BBB member and the BBB lists 5 complaints last 12 mth and 8 complaints last 36 mth and gives them a satisfactory record.

.....'inspection trench' on outside, looks to be dug out 18 inches, depth of bsmt wall to footing looks to be 5-6', soooo they are Only waterproofing about 1/3 of the depth of the bsmt wall. Vertical,step and horizontal cracks run further down in the basement wall which is where water will still be able to enter the wall, so mold can still be a factor since the entire depth of wall is not waterproofed. They are not stopping all the water from entering thus the need for their bs inside trench system.

Efflorescence will still show up on the inside behind Everdry`s 'Duroshield' that they put up against the wall inside to.... hide & conceal the walls! Insects will still be able to enter for same reason and so will Radon! Notice.... ....when they bring up Duroshield, Gary says " well thats pretty nice looking too!" hahahahahaha

Also Jim from Everdry says the Duroshield " prevents the stone from sweating"??? And " and therefore you can have a dry basement"....

The 2nd Vid they bring up Mold and looks like they dug down a lil deeper on this one. They use NO hydraulic cement in cracks on outside, and they backfill with just about all of the same soil/dirt.

Early in Vid you`ll see the 'bottom course' of the block wall pushed in/cracked & Notice the step cracks...need ALL peastone-gravel against the Entire depth of that basement wall to relieve pressure, hello?

And....Early in Vid notice the.... HOLES they drill in YOUR block Walls! C`mon in Radon.

Then they remark they direct the water under the floor to a...pressure release system??? It`s a Freakin` Sump Pump for krist sake!

Q Should the Outside of our basement walls be re-sealed? 

A Generally speaking, NO . This work should have been done when your house was built.

Hey.... when and if the outside of the Bsmt walls were sealed when the home was built is called.......'Damproofing' ya nimrod ...and 99% of the time the bsmt walls were Not backfilled with peastone/gravel, got that? Damproofing is NOT waterproofing, and having the same soil backfilled agst walls makes for poor drainage along the walls. Backfilling w/peastone/gravel relieves hydrostatic & lateral pressure agst the Outside of bsmt walls. Hydrostatic & lateral pressure can crack,bow `n buckle walls whether its a new home or older home

Test for Radon, help reduce Radon from the soil under ones basement floor but it wont stop Radon from getting into basement from the soil through cracks/other openings in basement walls, especially block walls.

will ANY Inside Co. please Explain in full exactly how a drain tile `n dewatering method/system

-Stops water/moisture from entering through cracks & other outside openings in bsmt walls

-Stops mold & efflorescence from growing inside block cells or on any interior face of bsmt walls

-Stops radon gas from entering from the soil through cracks/other outside openings in bsmt walls

-stops termites from entering through cracks/other openings in bsmt walls

-relieves hydrostatic & lateral pressure that is against the outside of bsmt walls

and 1 more thing, unless a home was built on a spring/etc then 90% of the time ya see water entering at the cold joint...where the bottom of bsmt wall and floor meet, it IS because of Outside cracks `n other openings in the bsmt wall and/or direct openings above ground, these inside companies say & would like everyone to believe its from a problem under the bsmt floor. Anyone notice Most BBB complaints listed on prior posts are complaints agst Inside systems/methods? Ya think just maybe there is a problem w/them
