Canadian government recognizes CMI. Thank you Roy Cooke!

Nick, how often have you explained to these people that CMI is not a trade association, but a designation. There are no dues, meetings or “by law” that affect “membership” since there are no members.

For a fee, those who meet certain criteria and agree to certain ethical conduct can buy the permission to use the “CMI” designation, correct?

CMI is not an association, it is a professional designation, it has no members or obligations to them.

CMI need not verify that its designation holders are keeping up with their CEs as there are no annual CE requirements. Once you hit the 1,000 mark you can become a CMI forever and then can stop or continue taking CEs. CMIs requirements are a benchmark.

That’s what I thought. Where do people keep coming up with the nonsense? It’s really not that complicated.

So no regular income to run the org. How does it deal with administration, errant members, complaints, legal matters, etc? Someone is doing this for free?

I was surprised to see that there are only about 250-260 or so CMI’s listed on the site. With what…15,000+ inspectors out there, are only 250 worthy? Why aren’t others rushing to the org? People have been doing this since the 1970’s…why don’t they want to be here?

There are only 18 CMI listed in Ontario.

6 CMI’s in Alberta.

2 in NB

1 in Yukon

Oh! I see!! How many CE’s can someone get by reading through all your online courses and taking/passing the quizzes/exams also. Are these all essentially open book exams?

I think if you added them all up you could potentially earn 40 CE hours (4% of 1,000). Why?

It appears that all the officers/directors/advisory board of CMI are all vendors?

Why don’t all the consumers in your area hire you? Is that considered evidence that there
is something wrong with you, if they don’t? No.

CMI is not a popularity contest, it is an educational/experience designation for those who
qualify and apply. No more, no less.

Not all.

Are you against earning an income for a living?

None of them are out selling CMI for profit anyway, and what they do in other areas
if none of my business. They all seem to have reputations of successful and honest
business people. What is wrong with any of that? Why do you attack people that
have done you no wrong? Who are you anyway? Do you have a life to live or
have you accomplished anything in life?

No I am not against earning a living, but then again I am cautious not to appear to be in a conflict of interest, either.

Hey Brian,
Let’s see your Mr. Know-It-All credentials.

Who on the CMI board has a conflict of interest? Proof?

Wheres the proof this is a creditable operation?

You were booted. No?

Oh sorry, you mean CMI.

ICC certification is an open book exam. Is that a respected designation or not?

The InterNACHI courses are for continuing education have benefited thousands
and have received tons of compliments for being made available to everyone at
no charge. Why is all of this evil to you? I think your agenda has made you very
immature and you are making yourself look like a twit as you continue to whine
about nothing…

Almost all the Texas CE classes have no testing. The online courses are open book.
Many other states hold the same policy for their inspector continuing education requirements
What is wrong with you?

Michael

Nice of you to get back into the fray, as usual standing behind the skirt of John.

If any better proof existed as to NACHI lowly requirements Michael is the poster boy!

Raymond you are a complete TWIT

Many associations give their members educational designations and most of those
designation do not even have federal trademark approval, like CMI. Are you going
to condemn all associations around the world that promote the education and training
of their members?
