Combustion Air from Attic and Firestopping

Hello. New home inspector here. I have inspected 3 homes recently with mechanical closets that have ceilings that are only screened and open directly into the attic space (see photo below).

All were built in the mid 70s and have solid wood doors (no weatherstripping). 2 have gas furnaces and one had an electric furnace. My question is regarding firestopping for this location. Obviously the gas furnaces need some sort of access to combustion air, but the electric does not. Would you call any of these out for lack of firestopping? If so what do you recommend for the gas furnaces?

No unless they were in the garage.
