That's why I always carry a flashlight, a moisture meter and a 16 gauge shotgun with me when I go into a crawlspace.
I recommend ear plugs and a set of ear muffs . Even then you touch that 16 guage off and you will hear bells for days or maybe even worse hear nothing . Been there done that now tone deaf do not hear the phone ring.
I saw some big ones on Colo. Glad they don't wear their coats, up here in Idaho. John, you must work like an old 'Nam Tunnel Rat in some of those crawls . . .

Yep, I’ve kinda taken a liking to the .40-
It’s hard to find something that can endear me as much as my Para-Ordnance (14 + 1) Model 14/45, but that .40 is a bit lighter & still reaches out as far as 100yds when needed.
Which would you rather face with nothing but a stick in your hands??
(Big Game Guns aren't fair for this one.)
Joke Ahead!
Two guys are out hiking (wearing hiking boots of course). All of a sudden, a bear starts chasing them.
They climb a tree, but the bear starts climbing up the tree after them. The first guy gets his sneakers out of his knapsack and starts putting them on.
The second guy says, "What are you doing?"
He says, "I figure when the bear gets close to us, we'll jump down and make a run for it."
The second guy says, "Are you crazy? You can't outrun a bear."
The first guy says, "I don't have to outrun the bear. I only have to outrun you."
