I’ve just researched about meeting you clients for the first time and think appearances are crucial to how people perceive you.clean truck and suitable attire, with your company name and logo on makes a big difference and sets the tone for a professional inspection
The attached photo demonstrates why it is a bad idea to wear a hat to a morning inspection, but did not wear the hat to a second inspection. My hair is a mess and I did not realize it until it was too late. Image is everything.
I chose the article titled scheduling an inspection for this essay. What a great article! I have been nervous about the specifics of booking and scheduling inspections. I want to always be an organized and professional as possible, so this article answered many of my concerns.
Home inspections are a service industry, not a product based industry. Most people buy a home once, maybe twice, in a lifetime. For this reason, in most instances, I look for every opportunity to sell my services (without violating my client-inspector relationship) by sending thank you letters to the buyer, buyers agent, listing agent, seller, and broker. I take a picture, such as the one attached, when walking the perimeter at the beginning of the inspection. While the buyer is my client, and I will NEVER create a conflict of interest, I have been able to develop many positive future relationships with other related professionals by simply introducing myself, thanking them, and helping them recognize my company name (and logo). Most inspections have at least four free marketing opportunities.
this is a image of a home inspector.this guy looks very exited to start his day.as any home inspector should be well groomed and ready to start the day the vehicle is clean these things combined will have a nice fist inpression well minus the armed raise and heavy metal salute
Recently during a home inspection, I attempted to access the garage attic using the pull down installed at the hatch. I broke it, accidentally of course. The client wasn’t upset, but I was kind of embarrassed; I’d never broken anything (that wasn’t mine) during an inspection before. I wrote a letter to the seller apologizing, explaining the situation, taking accountability, and offering to pay for a new one. The article, “Doing Damage During an Inspection: It’s Your Job,” put an interesting perspective into place for something like this that I didn’t think of before: Your client shouldnt be upset with you; they should be thanking you!
there are times when a client cant sign a home inspection agreement.the question then is can a real estate agent sign on there behalf the answer yes but the inspector should ask the agent if they have been authorized bye the cliant.then the agent should write authorized agent under the agents signature.
The homepage of your website is the most important page. It conveys the most information and it is the first thing a potential client sees when they look you up. Every link on the homepage should eventually lead to a contact me link. The home page should convey that you are trustworthy, legitimate, and credible. The use of the interNACHI logo can help with this.
I chose the article Marketing Tips for Inspectors: Meeting Your Client for the First Time. This article goes over some of the things an inspector can do to create a great first impression as they come onto a property and meet the client face to face for the first time. Make sure that your company logo is visible on the side of your vehicle. Make sure you are wearing clean cloths. Be well groomed. Keep a toiletry kit in your work vehicle that has a toothbrush, mouthwash, and deodorant. Do not let trash fall out of the vehicle when you exit. Have the radio off when you approach the property. Schedule enough time for lunch. Eating in the car has the potential to result in accidents. Smile when you meet the client. Have a business card ready. And many many more ides that will help an inspector make a great first impression and potentially gain a repeating client.
“A garage inspection”. I chose this article because it gives insight on what to look for when inspecting an open ceiling wood framed structure, especially one where trusses were used to frame in the roof. What the neighbor alerted the inspector to as far as snow causing the roof to collapse gave clues and alerted the inspector to what he/she should look for. The inspector found the trusses were hung with the wrong joist hangers that also had the wrong screws that attached them to the wall top plates. In addition the hangers were placed over drywall. Also the trusses had been modified which was apparent due to plywood gussets being used to join the trusses together midspan. This is something that must have an engineers approval.

This photo shows a copy of a call log utilized with incoming and outgoing phone conversations. The additional space allocated for notes is ideal, allowing for accurate records to be recorded at the time of the conversation rather than relying on memory.

The ability to offer your clients several different options to make the home inspection process easier is a win. As technology plays a larger role in our lives, it’s only natural to incorporate it’s use into our everyday business practices.
One of the more important items to consider when arriving for an inspection is your attire. First impressions are not limited to what you say or have said to this point in the inspection process. Your appearance can speak for you well before the inspection begins.
Doing damage during an inspection was in informative article regarding what to do and how to think if damage is caused at an inspection. The idea is to determine if the damage caused would happen during normal and to be sure to frame it as such when discussing said damage.
I chose to talk about smiling. A smile is one of the most important aspects of effective communication. It works. Its universal. Try smiling at someone; theyll smile back. Make it a habit to smile at someone when youre speaking with them.
The first thing to do when improving your first impression in person is to check your appearance. Do not let something as simple as dirty clothes or an unwashed vehicle be an obstacle to your client forming a favorable first impression of you. It is a good idea to take a spare set of clothes with you to every inspection.
First impressions are important to maintaining good customers relations and positive reviews of your home inspecting business. Something as simple as taking an extra moment to put shoe covers over your shoes before entering the home will let your client know that you are a professional and you care about the smallest details.
A sauna can be a relaxing and therapeutic addition to a home, but there are several essential design features which must not be overlooked in order to ensure to sauna is safe. The door should swing outward and should not be equipped with a latching mechanism. Additionally, there should be no exposed metal and the sauna should be constructed of a decay-resistant wood.
