The number one cause of truss failure is from damage and stress to the connection plates during installation. Those should have been cut up for bracing and blocking.

Examined the photo again, I realize that there is no evidence of either temporary or permanent lateral bracing in the debris. 2"x4" lumber should be seen here on top of the ceiling joist and on top of the rafter truss themselves.
Is is possible this was caused by Contractor negligence.

Jaime, what is page two and the cause of this disaster?
