I have a wall running north and south on two floors.
The first floor drywall ceiling, on both the east and west sides of the north-to-south wall where the ceiling and wall meet, is losing tape and have the nails popping out.
The second floor has the master bath, and the shower is on the north-to-south wall, immediately above the nail and tape separation on the first floor ceiling.
Aside from the tape and nail separation, there are no stains or other signs of moisture.

In my experience nail pops are usually caused by movement. The tape is a different story but could be also the same cause. If it were moisture I believe the drywall would swell and the nails would just receed into the soft plaster.
