following SOP

help me out here guys.

It states in NACHI SOP 2.9 Attic & Insulation
The insulation in unfinished spaces
The ventilation of attic spaces
Mechanical ventilation systems
and report on the general absence or lack of insulation in unfinished spaces.

So in following the strictest of SOP lines while in the attic I am to pay no attention to:
Trusses, rafters (or does section 2.3 cover this under structure, which would only include cutting, notching, and boring of framing members which may present a structural or safety concern)
Chimneys and other roof penetrations (or does section 2.1 cover this under vents, flashings, skylights, chimney and other roof penetrations.
General structure of roof from readily accessible panels, doors, stairs.)
Would the above instead fall under the roof inspection?

In short as a bare minimum SOP inspection what do I need to look to be in compliance.

I only ask because Im working on a competitor vs competior services.
Example:
Standard inspectors perform ABC
We continue with XYZ

While in the attic, you are inspecting for more than insulation.

In fact, most roof leaks are discovered from the attic (underneath the roof, not on top of the roof).

Yes, there are structural issues as well, that could be discovered only from the attic.

The SOP outlines what you have to inspect, not from where you have to inspect.

2.3.I.D covers all visible structural components.

If you are looking for things to do that exceed the INACHI SOP here are some you can do (and should be doing anyway):

Move under floor insulation at porches, exterior doors and plumbing areas to look for leaks and damage.

Check all windows and doors not just a representative number.

Check basic operation of installed appliances.

Check all accessible outlets not just a representative number.

Check garage door for proper reversal with a reasonable force applied.

Check oven for presence of an anti-tip safety bracket.

Report the presence of polybutylene plumbing piping and explain the concerns.
