Heat Pump cooled well but barely heated

Would you mind sharing the model number?

it is a heat-pump that is not heating well. What was the exterior temp when you ran this in heat mode?

High 60s I guess.

Ok. Well I’m going to call it for what it is. Thanks for your help. I took plenty of pictures and have infrared data.

Yep agreed!

It is, but that requirement is under “cooling equipment”:

COOLING EQUIPMENT
22 TAC §535.230(b)
(1) Requirements for cooling units other than evaporative cooler.

(B) The inspector shall report as Deficient:

(ii) inadequate cooling as demonstrated by
its performance

The “Heating Equipment” section of the TX sop doesn’t require me to report as deficient “inadequate heating”… It does however require me to report deficiencies in “heat pump or heating element performance”, which sounds pretty similar to me while also using very different language.

HEATING EQUIPMENT
22 TAC §535.230(a)
(1) General requirements.

(B) The inspector shall report as Deficient:

(2) Requirements for electric heating units, the inspector shall report deficiencies in:
(A) performance of heat pumps;
(B) performance of heating elements

Totally agree!
So many variables with ambient air temp inside and out and humidity and duration of operation make accurate measurement a lengthy proccess. For instance, do any of you (us) use a wet bulb thermometer?
