If the closet is used as a return understand the furnace posted is high efficency with combustion air from the exterior. But with the gas lines in the closet I write them up every time is it going to be changed probally not in my area but at least its in the report. Class B vents would not be allowed either I write them up also:D

Just out of curiosity what language do you use to describe a gas pipe in a vent as being an issue ?

I don’t know of Any piping water gas or other wise that is designed to leak but they all do at some point.
I don’t sugar coat my statements when it comes to gas piping in a return air. **I say gas piping not allowed to be installed in the return air replace as necessary. **And if it was supply air duct same thing:D
