As of April 1, 2026 Florida has updated its requirements for performing Wind Mitigation Inspections as well as the 1802 form.
InterNACHI has released it’s new training course, 2026 Wind Mitigation and the 1802 Wind Mitigation Form course, so Florida inspectors can be educated on the new requirements.
This course is being released as an informational course only at this stage due to the timing of the new requirements; the course is pending DBPR approval for continuing education, but at this time is not approved for CE.
InterNACHI’s previous wind mit course, How to Perform Wind Mitigations, is still approved for 16 hours of continuing education and should be used for CE until the 2026 course is approved by the DBPR.
