The COVID-19 pandemic has created worldwide interest in the use of thermal imaging as a screening tool for detecting persons with a fever. Since elevated body temperature is a symptom of COVID-19, it is possible to use a thermal imager to detect febrile persons provided that the thermal imager meets certain specifications and appropriate protocols are followed. This presentation will focus on infrared body temperature screening and how owners of infrared imagers may find a new use for their equipment in fighting the spread of COVID-19.
