Is this soot in my oil burning furnace?

Nice find… wonder if they’ll have the same growing pains as the early gas high-efficiency? I remember the Lennox Pulse being problematic due to the secondary heat exchanger.

The first production of the Pulse was great. Still one of the best furnaces ever made. An engineer’s decision to use mild steel welding wire on a stainless heat exchanger is what caused the problem.

Wow, I searched and destroyed for this and came up with nothing. Thank you for finding a needle in a haystack. Much appreciated.

I get 84%. ELITE® SERIES Upflow.

The dampper door is missing the balancing wheel.

I see soot, atmospheric debris and effloresecne.

I was just answering Matt’s question about if there are any HE oil burners on the market. I wasn’t referring to the OP’s furnace.

Still very helpful cheers.
