National Do Not Call list

I got this email today and I think this is old, but worth repeating.

REMEMBER Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.
REMINDER… All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

… YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time… It blocks your number for five (5) years.
You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON. It takes about 20 seconds.

Snopes says this is bogus:

It seems to pop up every couple of years.

The Federal Trade Commission advises that it is not necessary to register cell phone numbers on the DNC Registry despite e-mail claims circulating on the Internet telling you to do so.

I’ve used Nomorobo for about 6 months now.
https://www.nomorobo.com/

Does it work?

I just called ATT last week about all the calls I’m getting and they were no help.

They also do not support nomorobo.

I have nomorobo for my home phone-ATT.
All robocalls ring just once then get disconnected.
My cell phones are ATT, I don’t know if you can block your cell #.

I use it on my home phone which is ATT Fiber Optic.
It’s great when it just rings once & that’s it!! ha ha
