House built in 2007 with house wrap and vinyl siding. I am not going to recommend removing siding . Any input on my narrative would be greatly appreciated.
The vinyl siding was installed directly over plywood with no house wrap. Vinyl siding is not intended to be water proof. Most manufacturers require a moisture barrier between the siding and the plywood. The house will be prone to moisture intrusion especially around, but not limited to, windows and doors. I recommend having the siding maintained regularly. Any areas of the siding that are damaged will be especially prone to moisture intrusion.
