Permission to Enter in Ohio

You may know that you need the owner’s permission to inspect their home but are you keeping a copy of that permission in your files?

But that is not in statute, that is only a best practice recommendation. What is the source for that cite?

4764.11(B) It appears that staff counsel has determined that the above information is “and all work file documentation”. As with most things that I post for Ohio home inspectors they should consider the information and act according to their attorney’s recommendations.

To me it seems that they are saying that it would be a damn good idea to save this stuff in case they were to ask for it. Then is not the time to argue whether you should or should not have kept it.

Just an FYI from me to new inspectors. Old farts can do as they please.

All in good time.

BTW why would you advertise that Ohio has no regulations?
