Hello again to all those out there in Inspection world !! I’m looking for some help on pvc distribution piping inside the home ?. Is it allowed for Hot water I’m under the impression that it’s only allowed for cold water inside the home ?. I would super appreciate a 100% confirmation on its allowable use !! Thank you all for any help with this.
CPVC May be an acceptable water distribution piping material in your area. There may be restrictions on how close it can tie into the water heater. I would need to know more information like your location.
This appears to be CPVC piping which is allowed for both hot and cold water. PVC is only used for cold water.
I was under the impression that PVC is not acceptable for potable water. It can be used for for waste water and for non drinking purposes. CPVC is good for both hot and cold supply water. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I’m in Pocono Pennsylvania !Its Monroe county that doesn’t seems to have any restrictions that I was ever aware of as a construction worker building remolding homes in the 90’s - through 2010 but some things changed.
Yeah it has that yellowish tint so it probably is CPVC
Thanks Guys I just found it in my school notes now ,that says it is allowed for both hot n cold …
Good luck Robert and that was a great question.
Thank You Martin .
