I sent Redwood Kardon an email:

Of course, I was using 110-26(A) as the reasoning for my interpretation. As you know, having been an electrician, voltages are commonly checked inside of switches e.g. they are worked live.

I'll try to take a look at it next week. I'm heading up to Oregon tomorrow
to do an ASHI seminar.

Dave:

Redwood Kardon, You are selling his books, "Code Check" ---- ![icon_biggrin.gif](upload://iKNGSw3qcRIEmXySa8gItY6Gczg.gif)

See the web address above?

I hope this answered your question --- I have a long relationship with the electrical industry and have seen the new kids on the block grow into their present status as "experts" too.

Joe, I noticed the address, but I didn’t know if he was just promoting it or it was his company or he wrote them.

Interesting that the NFPA agreed with me that it is up to the AHJ if a disconnect needs the 110.26 workspace.

You can not look at a disconnect and state for a fact that it needs the work space, the only way to know is from the AHJ for that area.

That is a fact and anyone that is willing to read the the code section and Joe's own letter from the NFPA can see that.

A new kid on the block. ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)
