[size=]When Termite Detection Systems (TDS) owner William Moyer first came to the SBTDC for start-up assistance back in 2002, he had a strong patent for his non-invasive termite detection system but no product to sell and no business experience. He worked with UNCW SBTDC business counselor Jim Howell to launch his business.

His product is now being used by commercial pest control firms domestically and internationally. In 2010, William discovered that his system also detects bed bugs, which are a growing problem. After reviewing the potential, he developed a product for retail sale to consumers, which was launched in April 2011.

William has worked with Jim to locate product design firms, determine financial feasibility, conduct market and cost analysis, develop a business plan, and prepare for venture capital investors.

Since 2002 TDS has grown each year, with sales in over 48 countries.

The Government of Thailand has completed its tests and approved the BBD100 Personal Bed Bug Detector as an accurate instrument for finding bed bugs in government agencies.

After its approval, Aunnop Wongtitirote, President of Ikari Trading (Thailand), Ltd. and his professional crew tested 30 buses at the Bangkok, Thailand bus terminal on August 4, 2011. The government transport officer was present at all times as an observer. Eleven of the thirty buses tested with the BBD100 were found to be infested with bed bugs and these were fumigated at once. There are 200 more buses to check just in Bangkok and when these tests are completed the team will then begin testing all of Thailand’s trains.

****</B></B>TDS locates hidden Bed Bugs. TDS reacts differently when it is near Bed Bugs than it reacts when it is near Termites. When Termites are present the TDS alarm will sound continuously for ten seconds. This is due to the large amount of Carbon Dioxide Termites produce from their digestion of cellulose material that builds up in confined wall areas. Bed Bugs also produce large amounts of Carbon Dioxide from their digestion of blood, but there is no place for the CO2 to accumulate as it does with termites.

The TDS Unit has the most powerful CO2 Containment Sensor in the world and this enables it to detect the tiny amount of CO2 produced by a single hidden Bed Bug. When the TDS unit is placed in the high sensitivity mode it will react to a single bed bug with a double beep sound each time the probe gets within twelve inches of the bed bug. If there is more than one hidden Bed Bug in an area then the alarm will sound with multiple beeps.

I have Larson on “Ignore”, Roy, and would rather not remove him to try to understand your concern with him or his concern about someone else’s post. Perhaps others do, but I really doubt it. Nothing he posts on this thread is open to the public, most members have him on “Ignore” and very few who don’t have him on “Ignore” actually bother to read his posts. Are you being harmed by this in any manner, or are you simply being annoyed?

Harmed by Michael , Not at all but I am sure enjoying this .
It gives many a chance to see just how silly Michael is .
