We don't want a derogatory newbie category like "associate" or "candidate" because many agents blacklist "associates" and "candidates" but perhaps the CMI designation would be nice. I could really make a lot of hay for us with this CMI thing.

In all serious Nick, all members can get 2 of those points, if we make it 3 if someone is realy interested in the CMI designation then all they have to do is get involved in one of our committees and start helping other members, the organisation and themselves.

I agree with Mike and Gerry. Will the new photo membershio cards be GOLD for this? (just kidding). Or maybe solid WHITE for us Canadian inspectors to represent the snow up here?

OK I’ll agree with the related field issue, but how about we also mandate our own higher level of testing, we need this in so many areas that it only makes sense

Nick, one of the reasons was to make the standards a little higher by cutting one out. If people are doing these they need to be licensed anyway. Another reason would be the licence don’t make a good inspector.
PS: After everybody chimes in we will have the best CMI designation possible

By doing this you will be placing new inspectors in a lower cast. The thing that has made NACHI great has been putting all members on a level playing field.
How will this bring in more market share and to whom?
