Can a ceiling light be over a shower/tub.
I think it should be recessed lighting that is approved for “wet” locations. I also think other types of lighting should be 8 feet above the rim of tub. But, I could be wrong.
When installed over a tub, a hanging fixture or pendant must be at least 8 ft above the top of the tub. In addition, hanging fixtures must be at excluded from a zone 3 ft horizontally and 8 ft vertically from the top of the bathtub rim.
Don’t know if it is a code requirement or not, but my electrical ran my shower/tub light to a gfci.
Thank you very much, you guys!
That is very helpful.
