Ooops missed the other pics.
Never mind.

I don’t say it very often but you were correct in your assumption;-)
Juan, of all the inspectors on this message board across the country, Jeff Pope is one that I would choose not to disagree with. As a newbie in the business, you should heed his advice and learn from the best.
Very True Steven even in OntarioAchi we respect his knowledge in Electrical and his comments on the MB reflect this.
The elbow may or may not reduce the pipe depending on the brand of PEX that is in use. Uponor (Wirsbo) fittings have the same interior diameter as the pipe. Others like SharkBite have smaller fittings.
Still disagree
I would have to agree with that statement Jeff.
If they choose to disagree, then that is their prerogative.
The expert plumber will decide on the issues.
Anyone that don’t listen to Charlie and Jeff, needs help in home inspections. It is not their first call on an Inspection Issue.
Well I’m always going to recommend something more rigid or that it be strapped to the heater. I guess I am just bad inspector who’s a little paranoid and cares too much about the safety of his clients.
My background before becoming a home inspector was plumbing. With that said, the plumbing water supply under the kitchen sink looks fine. The capped line under the sink looks to be an abandoned galvanized waste line. It appears to me that the home has had some re-piping of water lines and wastes lines. As far as the T&P waste line, I would recommend it be secured and terminate within 6" of the floor.

Paranoia has no place in this profession. As a new inspector, you should be cautious, but never paranoid.
Additionally, recommending something “more rigid” doesn’t equate to “caring more” about the client. When we make “solid” recommendations that have the backing of experts and model codes, then we are taking better care of our clients.
Thanks Ron!
Thanks Ron!
I said a healty amount of paranoia. Just enough to make you question anything that doesn’t look safe. It’s almost synonymous with cautious. I already respectfully disagreed with you so I don’t know why you are pushing the issue. Apparently I am not the only one who thinks its a solid recommendation. I respect you. I value your opinion but I think the tpr discharge pipe could be better. Just because it’s up to code or experts say its good enough doesn’t mean it’s the best.
How interesting that a new member can’t seem to accept the recommendation of 2 “Nachi Members of the Year”. We will just have to wait and see if Duffy, Russell and other MoY join in.
They can join in. I got the answers I needed. No need to debate anything else with members of the year. Thanks for all the responses.
