starting the electrical inspection course now!
I’m confused the course explicitly states not to remove a dead panel and the 2nd thing the instructor did was removed it
Starting the electrical inspection course and am excited to do so. InterNACHI has great courses on a multitude of topics for the new inspectors. I can’t wait to continue learning as much as I can and growing my business.
Same with “Don’t walk the roof”. Don’t do as I do, do as I say do, comes to mind. Guess it depends on if you are going to exceed the SOP’s.
This one is challenging
If we are not to take off a dead front, why is so much time spent on the internal components of a panelboard? Especially when they are presented as inspection items and not just for information on the system and components.
Are you prohibited from removing the panel cover or is it just not required?
Removing it exceeds the standard of practice.

Yes and it has been so unbelievably frustrating. I spent a good 30 min trying to fix it in word and finally I just gave up on it.
Hello everyone!!! I’m getting ready to start this course I’m sure it will be a Shock of new information I’m ready to learn!!!
Good luck; I’m starting as well
I’m starting the course now and am looking forward to gaining some more knowledge.
Happy Independence Day. Excited to start this course today.
Starting this course. I’m sure there is a shocking amount of information to be absorbed. Let’s do this!
Did anybody here subscribe to the “2021 International Residential Code (IRC)” link that was provided in the course? Or anybody revisiting this course that’s been inspecting for a while that finds benefit in subscribing? Looks like you can subscribe a-la-cart at $10 each or to everything for $75 / month..
I could always use help writing, looking forward to this course…
Looking at this diagram, shouldn’t there be a similar gooseneck and drip loop from the utility pole before it runs down the riser and conduit. Perhaps there is something else to prevent water from getting in and collecting inside the conduit that is not pictured here. Or maybe I missed something and it’s not required.
I have completed 3 certifications so far. Continuing to move forward. Can’t wait to start performing home inspections!
Great answer!
