The Fed has to cut rates now

They should cut them by at least 1/2 a point. Let all this housing demand loose.

My thoughts have been that if mortgage rates hit around 5% things will really take off. There is a pent up demand to sell as well as buy. Trading a 3.5% mortgage for a 5% mortgage would coax many to make the leap (e.g. relocate, upsize, downsize).
