I agree. Never once did I disagree with that statement. Young children shouldn’t have unlimited access to books like “Gender Queer” and “All Boys aren’t Blue” in their school libraries. Not all subject matter in the Bible are appropriate for young children either.
What I took issue with is how far we are taking this. Books like “To kill a Mockingbird”, “Tom Sawyer” and even the Holy Bible have very important literary value.
The fight has gone beyond protecting community standards, it is now about who is controlling the dialogue. Both sides are guilty of that.
