I will agree. There are some zealots.
But regardless, there should be no porn in our school libraries. Maybe we could agree on that. It won’t make you a Republican, just a normal person with normal standards.

Consider this, if the only concern was porn in our school libraries, wouldn’t it have been easier for state’s to just modify existing obscenity laws?
Instead, we have at-will censorship. IMHO, that was the goal all along.

I guess the parents were going directly to those responsible. I am sure you could also lobby the state, why not?
the governing body of the institution is technically responsible for the resources in its library; however, it often delegates this responsibility to others. In school libraries, the school board is legally responsible for the resources in school libraries;

So, you believe there is an equivalence here. Community standards are essential and critical debate is necessary. So, feel free to go to the school board and make your voice known. Non-believers have been very successful in creating a secular society: no prayer, no nativity scenes, no Menorahs, etc., in public view. Instead, they promote these types of books.

I agree. Case in point is the article that I posted. Carmel is a conservative suburb of Indianapolis.
My local school system has never shelved the books in question. My daughter in law is a high school librarian. She had never heard of most of the controversial books until she started receiving challenges against them.
So if I take offense to the blow job paragraph in “All boys aren’t blue” I should also take offense to the bible passages you posted? Interesting comparison. I let you live with that one.
Just because they are not in her community does not mean they are not in others. Some people will argue that there are activists ording these books in intentionally. In the case of Carmel Clay School Board, they actively voted that book into the schoolgrade libraries (or not to remove it)
This is another statement from the board. As if removal of this book indicates bigotry. I argue, a person of color or that is gay may also find this book inappropriate for children.

I should hope so. The references talk about incest, beastiality, rape, child sex, sex with slaves, gay sex, infidelity, orgies, ect. The bible is filled with inappropriate sex. What do you think it meant when Ruth was told to uncover Boaz’s “legs” and lay at his “feet”? There’s a lot of begetting in the Bible. It is generally a history of sex.

Before we move further (there is much to be said about your claim of hypocrisy), this all began as you defending the left when I stated they are the party of censorship. You have conflated censorship with community decency standards and parents reviewing the books their children can access.
Now, to answer your question about the Bible in schools, not all Bible stories are suitable for younger children. Some contain dark and disturbing passages. My church teaches age-appropriate bible lessons and uses children’s versions to convey God’s word on faith, hope, love, and salvation.
If a locally elected school board does not allow children access to a broad range of inappropriate for children books and more age-appropriate bible versions are acceptable, I am OK with that if it means getting the porn out of the library.
Yet, you have failed to prove that the right is not also the “party of censorship.”

Not allowing children access to porn is a community decency standard meant to protect the innocent.
I would think limiting children’s access to this material would be common ground.
Instead, strong independent leftist parents fight for the book to be in school just to make sure some Christian does not have any influence.
Watch Joy Reed attack Tiffany Justice and attempt to bully her to win the argument. What is Joy fighting for? Joy is fighting to keep these books on the shelf. Joy makes no common sense concession because it is a left vs right issue.
