I remember during President Autopen’s administration the media (and “experts”) spent an incredible amount of energy attempting to convince us we were not in a recession and that our financial woes were purely superficial. The gaslighting was pretty intense.
You were part of that, I recall your statements clearly. Such as anyone struggling with debt during a financial crisis were irresponsible. And the numbers didn’t support the economic complaints.
That was a pretty good rant. I’m always on edge waiting to see your big finish. The big dramatic single line at the end. This one wasn’t too bad. Not your best, but way better than the awkward, cultish, “Thank God for Trump” one you have been using quite a bit lately.
In Brians defense, I’ve got to say that the awkward “Thank God for Trump” line does have a really high comedic value to it, I bust out laughing every time I read it.
Economic uncertainty has produced a double whammy for the housing market: sluggish home sales and plodding construction. Last month was the slowest April for existing home sales in 16 years — a sharp rebuke to hopes that this spring the housing market would recover after two very sleepy years.
In a May survey of builder confidence conducted by Wells Fargo and the National Association of Home Builders, home builder sentiment dropped to a level last seen in November 2023.
The problem, as ever, is the cost of housing: Home prices are out of reach for many who would like to buy. And the tariff drama under President Trump has both made it more expensive to build new homes and made the future more unpredictable for would-be homebuyers.
