[Updated] Convention postponed due to Hurricane — details coming soon

Due to the significant threat posed by Hurricane Milton, we’ve made the decision to reschedule the InterNACHI convention. Your safety is our top priority, and we cannot in good conscience proceed with the event as scheduled.

Hurricane Milton has been upgraded to Category 5, prompting mandatory evacuations in neighboring cities, flight cancellations, and a state of emergency in Orlando. Due to these travel restrictions, some of our staff and instructors are already unable to make it to Florida. Our events are top-notch because of our incredible instructors, and without them we wouldn’t be able to host the quality event InterNACHI members expect.

We are working closely with the venue to secure a new date in early 2025. Once confirmed, we will notify all attendees and vendors. All attendees can keep their ticket for the rescheduled date, or receive a full refund. Look for an email in the next couple of days with a link to receive an automatic refund.

We know that rescheduling will cause disruptions, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience. We’re working hard to minimize the impact and appreciate your patience and understanding.

To cancel your hotel reservation at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, please contact 800.627.8258.

Storm will be past Orlando by the time the Convention starts:

Good luck with the convention everyone.

Hopefully they keep the “radars” off and the storm doesn’t increase in intensity. Praying for no flooding or power outages. Although the ‘unusual’ heavy rains in our area the last couple of days aren’t helping with concerns about flooding. At least Milton is forecast to move through quickly.

Your maps is a little faster than the most recent NOAA maps.

They have it hitting land at 1pm Wed and out to sea by Thursday.

Still though, Thursday makes sense to push as it’s probably still going to be soggy for a bit.

We ended up in Orlando during Irma. Many areas there were without electic too. Waffle House was one of the few things open around us, cooking with their gas despite no electric. Our hotel had a backup generator and was filled (mostly) with people displaced from the very hard hit Keys. The hotel was charging $20? Or some ridiculous amount for a donut. WH saved the day before we headed back to Naples.

OK. Thanks. I just landed, I’m here already.

Thanks. I guess I don’t need my swim suit.

Maybe some board games.

Projected timing has slowed even more. Winds are forecast to arrive in central Florida roughly 8am Wed, outer bands of rain will start within 6 hours of that but often immediately rain can fall if they’ve picked up any moisture from the gulf.

Neither the 800 number nor the local 407 number to the Hotel is working. Can’t make changes via the website either.

I used their contact page and sent an email to the management. They were very responsive and waived fees for my cancellation.
Phone was useless - I think they’re swamped.

Thank you.

I was able to change my check-in date with ease by calling 800-627-8258 . The person that helped me did say they were swamped with other groups as well as the INACI group changing and canceling. I figured the storm would be out of the area by late Thursday afternoon so rebooked my flights as well to get in Thursday evening.

Nick- Based upon latest forecasts the storm is slated to make landfall very late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The storms forward speed is at approximately 10MPH which would have the storm enter the Atlantic as a cat 1 but as you know Orlando is somewhat inland and likely to see CAT 2 winds and rains. I will see if we can make it. Hope everyone is safe
