It’s good that they (ABC & George) settled, because IMO they would have lost in court.
It was on tape.
My understanding is that ABC may have had to turn over all their internal emails for Mr. Stephanopoulos and immediate staff as part of the discovery process, which I suspect would be even more damaging. That the settlement money will be going towards the Trump library is pure cosmic justice. Trump should thank ABC for their generous donation with a commemorative plaque – trolling them for decades to come.
What was “on tape”?
George Stephanopoulos stating on live TV that Trump was a found liable for rape.
ABC will give $15 million to Trump’s presidential library to settle defamation lawsuit | AP News
Trump sued ABC and Stephanopoulos in federal court in Miami days after the network aired the segment, in which the longtime “Good Morning America” anchor and “This Week” host repeatedly misstated the verdicts in Carroll’s two civil lawsuits against Trump.
During a live “This Week” interview with Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., Stephanopoulos wrongly claimed that Trump had been “found liable for rape” and “defaming the victim of that rape.”
Neither verdict involved a finding of rape as defined under New York law.
Which turns out to be a bunch of BS lies, just like the Russia hoax, pee pee tape hoax, and all the other BS lies from the same media telling people that men can be women and/or two men can have a baby. Or that there was no fraud in the 2020 election (or any major election for that matter).
Any woman who sits around and strategically waits more than 5 years to make a public accusation of rape (usually only done if the man got rich or famous, and usually accompanied by a book deal), should go to prison for as many years as she waited.

When Tucker Carlson says on his show “[r]emember the facts of the story; these are undisputed" no reasonable person would believe that he was about to state facts. At least, that was Tucker Carlson’s own argument in defending himself from a libel suit.
That argument convinced U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil, who dismissed a lawsuit.
According to Judge Vyskocil, “Fox persuasively argues . . . that given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer arrives with an appropriate amount of skepticism about the statements he makes."
=========================
So that makes ABC news a credible source of information, accused of presenting an incorrect summary of a case.
But Mr. Carlson an unreliable source of information, that can say anything true or false without consequence.
E. Jean Carrol’s story is eerily similar to a SUV episode that takes place in the same department store. Just because she had two friends lie for her proves nothing. Friends lie for friends all the time. Of course her rape allegations didn’t surface until 2019, 7 years after the SUV episode and over 20 years since the alleged incident. The left publicly accusing a Republican of rape - years and years later is right out of their playbook. They’ve tried this so many times it is a joke. Lieing has become a national pastime for the left. Just ask Brandon (or Hunter or Jill, or anyone else in that family).
Unfortunately, many victims of sexual assault do not come forward immediately after the event. For many, it takes years and years for them to be able to discuss it, or even admit it happened.
Just giving another cloud to yell at…
This was not the case for E Jean, who bragged about rape being a fantasy before the person doing the interview cut her off to goto commercial.
Nice try, lol. You better go actually watch the video and not just believe what you see on X.
Or The Pundit, or Alex Jones, or Spluncked Blog…all F’ing laughable!!
Triggered!
That’s rich! Good one! Even SNL is coming around
“I had to walk by a bunch of baby oil sniffing dogs”
I get that (was attacked myself, when young). But the price you should pay for refusing to call the authorities immediately should be to live with it, or do prison time. It should be a crime for someone to wait for years until the accused has no possible way of mounting a defense. That’s just straight up defamation. Notice how it seems to always come with a fat payday? $83.3 million???
Did you ever “call it out” or sit on it?
Neither. I had friends in low places back then. But for most people, there is this thing called 911.
Maybe someone else did too. . Surprised you mention it now…
Let me give you an analogy you might relate to. Imagine if the IRS announced that you cheated on your taxes in 1996 and they take you to court, get a judgement, and publicly call you a tax cheat. Would that be OK with you?
