There is NO method to determine the age as they are sequential in format!..

Here are some supposedly known SN/years from the BIC site. Sumptin don’t seem right when you look at the SN from the unit I had today that was between 1994 and 1998.

Unfortunately it ended up as a dead end. After getting bounced around, then given a different number to call slant fin “more direct” only to be told that their company doesn’t deal with the manufacturing on the boilers….?

Mestek acquired Slant/Fin in 2021, so maybe the old contact numbers for Slant/Fin are no longer in service.

I just inspected a Slant/Fin boiler yesterday. Did some digging and found this information on their website Homeowner Registration | Slant/Fin Products

"Slant/Fin Corp is no longer manufacturing or selling boilers or replacement parts. All Slant/fin boilers are Discontinued Models.

Slant/Fin can no longer warranty Beckett, Hydro-Level and Diversified Heat Transfer parts on boilers. All of Slant/Fin’s replacement part warranties will expire Aug 1, 2024. We can no longer replace castings or factory made parts. Third party manufactured parts can be ordered if still available through Parts4Heating is our trusted distributor for replacement parts"

The above verbiage made its way into my report.
