Another Firewall Question?

What amount of blocking holes in a masonry wall with fiberglass is permitted?

If that insulation is filling exposed openings and that block wall is intended to be a firewall, then you’ve got breaches in the firewall.

The entire firewall (top to bottom) must be sealed with adequate fireproofing material between all separated dwellings.

Mortar between the block joints would also be necessary to maintain the rating.
This wall has no rating capacities at the moment.

Is that wall dry laid? Hard to tell from the photo?

and the winner is Marcel.

Good Morning

Just missed it by a minute. ha. ha.

Marcel

not totally unrelated

Going back over the photo there is definelty not much mortar but also noticed that the rows have not been staggered.

Doesn’t appear to be fire rated roof sheathing either…

David, look again, there is no Mortar and the blocks are stacked.
