Another image added to the free Gallery: Main Lugs

Current standards require main lugs before the disconnect to be protected.

One with protected lugs might make a good addition to the gallery.

Panels usually are generally one of two varieties, MLO (Main Lug Only) or Main Breaker. This graphic shows both MLO and a Main breaker which doesn’t exist. Since the title says Main Lugs the main circuit breaker (labeled Main Service Disconnect) should not be shown.

Thanks, I’ll have the graphics artist come here.

Here’s one from today.

Sorry Dave, that is a main breaker panel.

I know which is what the OP referred too, but the graphic was not accurate.

Interesting service disconnect today.

What’s so interesting about this one?

It’s unusual in my area for new builds.

The graphic now shows 3 conductors to a subpanel.

Good eye. :sunglasses:

Now that the image depicts a main lug sub-panel, the only thing missing is…

This was an interesting lug, same inspection.

This is a common configuration with dual disconnects in my area.

Just a neutral adapter lug to allow larger conductors to connect to the bus. Very common.

Not around here, hair cutting and other improper installations are more common.
