Anyone familiar with this fastener IS

Good Morning,

Anyone familiar with this nailhead? Was thinking it might be something by Simpson but am not finding this head stamp on their site. It appears to be an IS or potentially a 1S

This is in the dome position of a joist to ledger connector.

Brandon

those are galvanized nails, I dont think simpson marks their nails, but could be any brand. But by the color of the nail they are galvanized and the correct nails to use. At least they are not drywall screws.

Well that’s for sure. I do see that occasionally, however, the vast majority of the time I’ll see at 10d x 1 1/2.

It looks like a Simpson nail and the I may be the length. I would ask or contact Simpson.

Looks like a collated Strong Tie nail to me. Simpson does stamp their nail-heads like that.

Yup, and I do have an email out to them. Was just curious if anyone knew offhand.

Also I know they do stamp their heads. I’ve been browsing their technical documents for a bit looking for one that fits this description and haven’t found one yet.

The other fasteners are all stamped 16, I’m thinking it’s just a deformed 6.

I agree Junior because there is nothing to indicate 1S that I found.

Yup, you’re right! Not sure why my brain didn’t make that leap. Thank you all for connecting the dots!
