basement bath

I’m curious as to the air admittance valve location. Please see drawing on attached word file. Is one AAV in this application OK?
I’d locate it in the sink vanity.
Or - I may choose the 2nd option as we may want to go to a pedistal sink. I understand the 2nd option would require a vent grate.

Thank you

Since the approval of AAV for some applications people don’t believe in using vent stacks. You need to look at some sort of reference on plumbing. Find a book (a DIY) and you’ll see what I mean. If you still don’t understand let me know.

That drawing appears to show the AAV being located inside a wall. It’s my understanding that it must be located in the living space.

Anyone else able to confirm or deny this?

Edit: I was partly correct, therefore I was wrong! #9 of this pdf](http://www.psdmagazine.com/ASPE_memberpdf/20070506/CodeUpdate.pdf) states "“The valve shall be located within a ventilated space.”
