When the water was diverted from the tub spout to the shower head, some water was still running from the spout in bath . Adjustment or repair may be needed to the diverter faucet or tub spout.

Great feedback guys. We each have our own ways of noting and doing things. I note the observation in my reports when the water from the spout is obviously affecting the shower flow, and the language I use is “The shower diverter valve is ineffective.” More tools for the tool box, hopefully that helps someone.
