Sorry Nick. My Prayers are with you…
Some heat in China…
Beats listening to oBOMBa read from a teleprompter and mispronounce his own wife’s name as “Michael.” But maybe that was just a Freudian slip.
The propaganda isn’t just spread by our CJ Gang TDSers.
No slip there…
Not sure what you mean, but my prayers are still with you and hopefully ICE doesn’t come after your wife and kids.
Wife is a U.S. citizen with Canadian permanent residence, kids were all born here.
And the same status hasn’t been deported?
Interesting.
I see your point, and I agree with you that he is simple minded and speaks his mind, even though many times he contradicts himself.
But Trump is the tariff man. He’s been a tariff man going back to the 80s when he thought the Japanese were taking over our country. He just has surrounded himself this time around with yes men who don’t have the spine to tell him he’s wrong, so, unless there is a way for him to get out of the mess he’s gotton us into, while saving face, we all will find out the hard way.
I think this will be short lived. China has a serious food security issue that is well documented, which is why they’ve been buying up U.S. farm land. They may hit the pause button on buying from us now, but sooner than later, they will have to resume as they cannot sustain (talking SoyBean specifically), but I think this is also the case with other crops. Unfortunately- as others have mentioned, it will be the U.S. farmers who take the initial hit. Which is unfortunate, and most likely require short term intervention (gov. bailout) (again) to correct the imbalance.
Now I’m 1,000% against Tariffs, as all Tariffs are paid not by the companies- but passed onto the consumers. Anyone who has taken Macro-Economics in college knows this to be true. I get the bargaining chip aspect in the short term, but that can be a slippery slope- and not a long term soluation IMHO. Kinda feel like this administration is playing a dangerous game of Russian Roulette. Its has equal chances of either a.) Being a stroke of calculated genius; or b.) Being a decision that will fail in spectacular fashion.
It has always failed in spectacular fashion. There is plenty of empirical evidence already out there. For some reason, some think it will be different this time.
Sadly, especially for farmers, that’s not the case anymore.
What has taken the US years to build, is being torn apart in weeks.
I sure hope so.
Trump has to be a bit more respectful when dealing with the Chinese. The Chinese have all the cards, not Trump. The Chinese have the factories, they have the workers who actually work long hours in those factories, they have trillions of our Treasuries that they could dump if they wanted to, and they have billions of their own people who could buy those products if we don’t.
We have consumers. Any idiot can consume. It’s production that is true wealth.
$2TRILLION in investments in USA manufacturing. Pretty good start
Exactly. The best negotiations are done from a friendly posture, especially with the Chinese.
Checkmate Marketing’s biggest client is a Chinese law firm.
Every time I meet with them I tell them that they could probably get this work done less expensively elsewhere, and maybe even better than I can do it. They eat that humility up and always renew my contract.
The Chinese are all about respect.
