“Thornberry” as you refer to him, isn’t a repair contractor, doesn’t offer bounties to our members for repair/replacement leads, and has no financial interest in influencing the objectiveness of our industry’s reports… so he really isn’t on my “worry about radar screen.” Believe what you will.

While your own personal standards might make a distinction between an inspector accepting kickbacks from one contractor than another … your revision to the association’s code of ethics doesn’t.
Correct. And once again… I understand that the issue of repair contractors offering bounties to inspectors will eventually have to be addressed in some fashion.
But it certainly won’t addressed be by using our COE to encourage the practice by creating an approved condition whereby accepting such bounties is permitted if a disclosure of the compensation and consideration is disclosed.
Threads like these and all the bickering from other inspectors towards anyone who wrote the COE makes me wanna discontinue my membership. Serious guys, who gives a rats @$$ on who wrote what.
