Any laminated posts or beams has an Achilles heal, which is water accumulation between the individual members. If you can keep the water out laminated beams can be as strong or stronger then solid wood beams.

Buildup columns. Buildup posts. all good except for ground/concrete clearance…
Guardrails can be weak.
Balusters secured with one fastener at the top ad bottom.
Guardrail post and secured how?
