Is there no interstate in North Dakota?

Also even numbered routes run east and west and odd number routes run north and south. Even numbered Interstates mile markers start at zero at the western state border and increase as you go east same for odd numbered north/south numbered interstates.

So . . . odd numbered interstates mile markers start at zero at the western state border and increase as you go east? Thought they ran North and South.

The question is, “slower than what?” Just because you want to go over the speed limit doesn’t mean I have to move over.

If you really want to save money on gas, try doing the speed limit. Everywhere! Residential neighborhoods are still 25 MPH (in MD).

A little known or appreciated fact is that the “Double Nickel” was not a speed chosen at random. In fact it is the “sweet spot” where most engines achieve maximum fuel efficiency. That’s about 2000 RPM in most vehicles.

In Tennessee it does. We passed a specific law about using the left lane when you are not actively passing other traffic. We have common sense here in TN. Places to go , people to see. Work to get done. “Move your junk out of my lane, slowpoke”

You do realize it is illegal in most “sane” states to go over the speed limit to pass another car. Speeding is speeding no matter what lane your in. I do realize you youngsters were never taught any driving etiquette.

If you’re forcing others to pass you on the right, you’re still the slower driver.

How about this one?

By that logic, obeying the law (the speed limit) forces others to break it. This is a basic problem of pride (as sin). I am more important than you, so I need to go faster. My time is more important. Curiously it is exactly what everyone wails about when John Kerry flies his private carbon emitting jet to Europe to preach about your need to stop carbon emissions. He’s even said it publicly. “For someone like myself [more important than you] it’s necessary for me to travel this way.” How about Nancy Pelosi’s insider trading or her husband’s DWI. You or I would be in jail.

If I am driving the speed limit you have no right to pass simply because you are in a rush or late from poor timing. I am consistently 5 miles over so there is little room to complain.

It sounds like you’re saying you’re willing to break the law (driving in the passing lane) to prevent someone else from breaking the law (speeding).

There is no law in Maryland that says you can only drive in the left lane if you’re passing. That rule (I don’t know if it is law) generally only applies to 2 lane interstates. We have 3, 4 and 5 lanes with left exits as well as right so that rule doesn’t cut it here.

But then… :joy:   :+1:

People that refuse to move out of the left lane have severe control issues.

There is… The map posted is just an example and listed the ones as multiples of 5. I-94 runs right across it.
