Does anyone have a drawing/illustration of a drip leg I could have or use? Randy Mayo??
Why use a drawing when you can use a real photo?
Anybody ever remove one and see anything ?
Also how often should you empty them ?..haha.
Yes, I’ve seen them full of crap.
Not even required here lol Our gas is super clean according the officials
Thanks guys these will work great!
I just had a new furnace installed last week. It was 23 years old and never had a drip leg. I had the installer add one so I’m in compliance. I notice that I never see one on gas dryers and stoves. Why is that?
Good question - Because they are not required for gas clothes dryers and stoves.
Or vented fireplaces.
Not an automatically controlled gas equipment.
I did a house just the other day where the sediment trap was horizontal to the left.
I finally saw one yesterday on a gas water heater.
I laughed, because I know what a drip leg is, but I have never actually seen one.
They are not required here, so I’m not sure why one was installed.
Not required by code. But sediment traps are required by many manufacturer’s instructions.
From State Water Heaters.
But I would challenge you to find any manufacturer who requires them on a clothes dryer or range.
