EXTECH i5 From FLIR

We are not talking switch gear, we are talking panels.

This is a quote from the Mfg, I didn’t make it up.

120 deg IS limiting for panels!

I didn’t say you made anything up!

Kevin

Cool stuff! Missing insulation in my own home, nice! :stuck_out_tongue:

All signed up John, see you guys on the 10th. I’ll be driving up on the 9th.

Great… see you in TN on May 10-11.

Congrats on the nice IR camera.

Update: Just got an email from one of the Extech reps informing me that the temp range is 0 to 250 Deg C.

The data in the Professional equipment catalog is inaccurate. They list the “operating” temp range rather than the measurement temp range.

David, my apologies fine sir!

Kevin

Thanks, this sheds some new light on the subject, no?

Still, I am on your side of the fence that this is camera has limitations for our application (depending what each HI had determined them to be).
If you don’t get the education, there is not reason to have a $20k camera!

When you get the education, $20k seems a drop in the bucket!

It still beats the hell out of the ir thermometer I have been using to do the same thing for 15 years (+). It (which is still in service) came no where close to that price tag. I don’t know how I will replace it when it retires!

Hey guys I am back, David I just finished level 11 and passed the test. For your info just in case you are thinking about the next level I found level 11 to be much easier for me than level one I actually knew what the hell he was talking about:D I would definitely agree don’t go with the low resolution camera would not be able to give me one for free. I had the same instructor Bob Rogers as I did for level one. We had a good discussion about home inspectors and what course should one take starting out. I won’t post his thoughts would just start an argument.</IMG>

I talked to Phil Pollard today to get some more information on the i5 (the sales rep for the states of IL and IN). He told me that he doesn’t know much about this IR camera yet and the last he was told, it wasn’t going to be for sale till late May. ???

It makes me question if they know what they are talking about yet. He obviously doesn’t since he came out and told me (which I appreciate him not trying to blow smoke up my ###).

Hi guys. I was reading your posts as I like to do from time to time. We have the Extech, Flir, and Fluke thermal imagers.

Here is a link to the i5 for more information on it:
http://www.tequipment.net/ExtechI5.html

We will also have home inspector kits with the i5 in it on the site later today. We have demo units to send out on the i5! We can also help on the pricing.

We are here to help and beleive we are second to none with pricing, service, and knowledge.

Thanks
Evan Cirelli

Yes but can they give an in person demo or will they send out a demo unit?

Try us!
Thanks

I agree with John. The resolution is to small. Using the BCAM-SD has 120 x 120 and thats enough to do an inspection, 80 x 80 is to small, and I dont think anybody would be satisfied with a low resolution…

John, can Evan get a demo to Nashville this weekend?

We’ll evaluate it!

yes I can. The only thing I want to avoid is the person who needs it for a job and returns it. But yet I can send a unit to you!

Thanks
