Extremely well ventilated roof

Today’s inspection, one and a half story, very shallow attic, snow and leaves etc., are coming through the ridge vent. Any suggestions on an easy fix? I am thinking rolling a loose sheet of plastic on top of the insulation under the vent. Insulation was 10" to 12" blown in cellulose, and was dry under the snow, no signs of leaking on the plaster ceiling. Seems like the roofers got a little carried away? Ridge vent was installed about 3 years ago, previous to present owner had the work done, so probably not possible to find the perpetrators any more. And no, call me a wuss but I did not go up there, all pics taken from the ground.

See this sometimes when the ridge faces the prevailing winds. I would recommend replacing the ridge vent with one that has a deeper overhang.

That is the way it is facing. Thanks for the reply.

Get rid of the ridge vent and go back to the gable end vents. Why fix what wasn’t broken in the first place.

I would also recommend replacing the ridge vent with one that has a deeper overhang!
