Flues and Vents

While I’m taking my classes online with InterNACHI, I came across a message that two people were talking and using height of flues. They were talking like this

2,10,3 for flues
3,2,10 for Chimney flues
1,2,8 for gas vents
2,2,10 for oil vents

Can someone explain if that is correct and to break it down for me? Are the describing height above the roofline? I thought to myself, that will be a great and easy way for me to learn!

Thanks!!

James, the pic below is for gas vents.(Enlarge it.)

Can you explain the others?

James,
Pretty sure the first 2 are inter-changeable regarding a chimney flue.
Flue

Chimney has to be a min. of 3’ above the roof surface and extend 2’ higher than the ridge if it’s within 10’ of the ridge line.
