My first nail gun was an old Hilti and then graduated to a nice Bostitch but they didn’t have the anti-recoil feature like they do today . So one day I’m nailing along and the gun jumped up an the nose hit the side of a piece of lumber I was holding and this was the result. Was a cement coated ring shaft which didn’t help with the extraction.

Not very nice
The closest impalement I ever came close too, with these nail guns, was nailing the sole of my boot to the sill plate while toe nailing a stud and holding it with my foot.
I paid attention after that warning. LOL
the fun part is pulling them out for sure…
