Power plants dont raise there rates due to supply and demand. Most still follow a 20 year old contract of fixed megawatt pricing called the power purchase agreement. The reason prices fluctuate in the electric industry is from the distributors ie: owners of the poles, wires, and substations distributing the power produced from the plants.

Even the fruit in the Dole fruit cups comes from China now.
I buy American when I can and wish the old marketing technique of proudly displaying the fact it was made here would return.
So often I see the term distributed by (insert USA name here) and know it came from China.
